Happy Wednesday Loves!
I woke up in the best mood today. Don’t you love that? Waking up on the right side of the bed is always a major win in my book.
Today I wanted to share some cost cutting tips with you while planning your wedding. I’m really big on assisting clients with cutting costs where they can and allocating the funds saved to other areas of the event design OR keeping that money tucked comfortably in the bank. One of the easiest ways to do this is by re-purposing items used in your ceremony for the reception. It’s not a new idea. …nor is it the most innovative, but you have no idea how many brides spend unnecessary money on items they could have simply re-purposed.  It’s a great way to get added use on items you already love!
While designing my destination wedding in Mexico this past March I had a custom made backdrop created to use during the ceremony. I was, and still am head over heels in love with this backdrop.  A few weeks prior to the wedding I decided that I wanted to create a DIY photo booth for the reception. Instead of purchasing a backdrop for the photo booth area I opted to re-purpose the gorgeous ceremony back drop I already had.

Also, if you’re looking to create a DIY Photo booth – it’s super easy and cost effective and really amazing for destination weddings in countries that don’t necessarily have the best photo booth options.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1. Back drop
2. Props
3. Poloroid Instant Camera
4. Tons of film
5. Photo book for guests to paste pictures in
6. Pens/Markers for guest to sign/write on photos
That’s it – it’s super simple and my guests had an amazing time snapping pics of themselves.
